About Us

Kip McGrath is a successful, international company. We have been helping children with Reading, Spelling, English and Mathematics for over 25 years. There are now more than 600 Centres worldwide, with more opening all the time.

Each Centre is owned and operated by fully qualified teachers. The Llanelli Centre, which opened in September  2004,  is owned and run by Owain and Cindy Davies. Owain has 12 years experience in secondary education and Cindy, 10 years in primary education.

At Kip McGrath our first priority is to build  confidence and self esteem. We are not in the business of the quick fix, for success and lasting improvement rarely come overnight-but come they will.

As qualified, experienced teachers, we understand the needs of children and their parents. We believe that when you entrust your child to Kip McGrath, you are acting to change the course of his or her life for the better; and probably one of the most important gifts you will ever give, will be the opportunity to be successful.

The Centre is conveniently located at 8, West End, Llanelli, near Hall St, Church. There are 2 car parks just a few minutes walk away; off Thomas Street, and next to Ty Elli surgery.

What We Do

We provide professional after school tuition in Reading, Spelling, English and Mathematics for young people aged 6 to 18. Our students vary from those who are having difficulty with their school work, to gifted children who need to be extended.

Each student has their own individual programme which are designed to give students the motivation to succeed,

We use internationally tried and tested resources that fully compliment the National Curriculum. We are able to offer tuition through the medium of Welsh.

HOW WE DO IT
Following a free  consultation and assessment at the Centre, we build an individual workplan for each student.  The plan will begin at the students current level of ability and progress will be at the students own pace. This means that he or she is always extended and challenged but never overwhelmed.

Each tutoring session lasts 80 minutes, during which time the student will be engaged in six or seven different activities. They will alternate between verbal, written and computer based activities which are specially written for Kip Mcgrath. Boredom is not an issue!

Homework is set every week and is thoroughly explained to the student before they take it home. This is a vital part of our programme as it allows our tutors to constantly assess the level of students understanding.

ASSESSMENTS
Assessments are normally done on Saturday mornings. However, there may be opportunities to carry out assessments at other times. Please remember that there is no charge for the assessment.
